“Join two of Canada’s leading data journalists for intensive hands-on instruction with the essential tools for working with electronic records. Participants will learn to use spreadsheets, mapping and other software to turn raw data into stories. The course will emphasize the particular skills reporters and communicators need in order to develop innovative and intriguing ways to use data. Participants will leave with a long list of ideas for data stories they can take back to their newsrooms and organizations. Enrolment fee: $500 plus HST. There is a registration cap of 25 participants. A student price of $200 plus HST per person is also available for current registered students. The registration fee includes morning and afternoon coffee breaks and lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
