January 15: IABC Ottawa Book Club: Influence by Robert Cialdini

Join us January 15 at 46 Elgin Street for the IABC Ottawa member-only book club.

IABC Ottawa’s Book Club is a member-only event designed to help communicators connect and stay on top of industry trends.

Members will enjoy an open, relaxed and informal event where they can network with old friends and meet new ones. All of that while you enjoy a glass of wine and cheese! Read a review about our last book club meeting.

This quarter’s book club meeting reviews Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini. Influence is a classic book on persuasion that explains the psychology of why people say “yes”—and how to apply these understandings. Dr. Robert Cialdini is the seminal expert in the rapidly expanding field of influence and persuasion. His thirty-five years of rigorous, evidence-based research along with a three-year program of study on what moves people to change behavior has resulted in this highly acclaimed book.

Remember, you can loan the book from your local library.

Don’t have time to read the book – no problem! Each meeting begins with an overview of the book and the topics are broad enough that anyone can contribute to the discussion regardless if they have read the book or not.
