Meet our panelists:

jason mcdonaldJason MacDonald, VP Deputy Practice Leader at Hill & Knowlton Strategies

Jason is a communicator, skilled at strategic planning, media relations and issues and crisis management gained from his time as director of communications and chief spokesman for the former prime minister of Canada. Jason has extensive experience with the federal government, serving as director of communications and issues management and as deputy chief of staff to two ministers of aboriginal affairs and northern development. Prior to his time on Parliament Hill, Jason worked in communications and marketing in the post-secondary education sector where he led the development of award-winning marketing and recruitment campaigns.

 

Jordan OwensJordan Owens, Press Secretary, Office of the Minister of National Defence

Jordan Owens is a market research and communications professional currently serving as Press Secretary to the Minister of National Defence. She has previously worked as press secretary to Ontario’s Minister of Energy, communications aide to former Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff, and has provided communications advice to political parties, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations across Canada.

 

 

 

Mike MurphyMike Murphy, Director of Communications for Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard

Mike has worked as a television journalist, served as director of communications for two federal ministers and held several senior roles in health care and the association representing the brand name pharmaceutical industry.

 

 

 

Lisa AllaireLisa Allaire, Chief Corporate Communications at City of Ottawa

Lisa is an experienced senior executive and professional communicator with close to 25 years of progressive public sector experience within both Federal and Municipal government .  Her expertise is in communications strategy, planning and implementation, media relations, issues management, advertising and marketing. In her legislated role as the City’s Emergency Information Officer, she has authority over the City of Ottawa’s communications function during emergencies.
